The Irish History Bookshop is a specialist bookshop selling new, used and antiquarian books about history (particularly Irish history).
Our stock ranges from books of interest to the general reader to specialist material for students and academics. We also stock out of print titles and antiquarian books related to history which will be of interest to collectors.
We sell books about history, archaeology, mythology, folklore, history for children, military history, social history, political history, local histories, history of the arts, culture and literature, history of religion and ideas, historiography and historical method, toponymy, journals and reference materials.
A selection of our stock may be purchased in our shop which is located in the Main Street in Cong, County Mayo. Not all of our titles are located at our Cong shop therefore we advise you to contact us first if you plan to travel to purchase a specific title.
Our shop contains a large number of Journals related to Irish history ranging from the 18th Century to the present day. Not all of our journals are listed on our website. Please contact us if you are seeking a specific Journal and we will be happy to search our stock and let you know if it is available.

Planning a Book Launch?
Please contact us if you would like us to host an event related to Irish History in the bookshop. We can accommodate small groups in the shop and up to 100 people in our adjacent premises. We can also provide audio visual equipment and a pa system etc for presentations. Cong village has many sites of historic interest and a wide variety of accommodation making it the ideal location for your history conference.
