William Wenman Seward, a Dublin solicitor, was the author of “Topographia Hibernica: or the topography of Ireland, antient and modern, giving a complete view of the civil and ecclesiastical state of that kingdom” which was published in 1795. The Topographia expanded on his previous work – the “Hibernian Gazetteer” – by providing considerably more historical information on the towns and villages of Ireland along with the civil and ecclesiastical details of the places covered.
