Description
A little shelfwear to the card covers. Conamara is now generally regarded as all that part of County Galway west and north of Lough Corrib. This booklet describes that region of great hills and valleys to the north and low-lying areas of rough moorland with numerous lakes to the South in all its distinctive character of ‘a little Gaelic Kingdom’. Its beauties and hardships and the rich traditional culture of its inhabitants are evoked with the insight born of the author’s deep affection for his locality. The late Sean MacGiollamath had an intimate knowledge of Conamara, its legends, folk-tales, scenery and wild life. He is the author of several works in Irish on the region including Mo Dhuthaigh Fhiain which won the Craoibhin Prize for Irish writing.
